Dear Ms. Lee,
Nice article, one correction:
Robert Daraio and Manuel Quezada are not only running on the Democratic and Independence Party lines, but also are the candidates running on the Working Families Party ticket.
In addition, both Robert Daraio and Manuel Quezada are endorsed by the Westchester-Putnam Central Labor Body of the AFL-CIO, which represents all the public and private sector unions with collective bargaining agreements with businesses and municipalities in Westchester and Putnam Counties.
Thank you for your fair, objective, and comprehensive coverage of the elections in Ossining.
My wife and I enjoy reading the Daily Ossining and applaud the efforts of your colleagues and your self in providing in depth local news and information about the goings on in our community.
Thanks again.

Robert Daraio will work to control taxes and spending without reducing services.
Bob is an Ossining Democratic Party District Leader, who has lived in the Village since 2001. He is a staunch advocate for fiscal and social responsibility.
Robert Daraio is excited about joining Mayor Bill Hanauer, Trustee Marlene Cheatham, along with running mate Manuel R. Quezada in meeting the challenges facing the Village of Ossining today.
This can be done through more consolidation and shared service agreements, along with careful review of all expenditures to maximize economy while minimizing job losses.
We are committed to:
• working to hold tax increases to a minimum through careful budgeting, cost control, collaborating with the Town of Ossining and Village of Briarcliff to expand shared services, eliminating redundant services, and developing new areas of cost effective cooperation.
• enhancing our Recreation Department's activities with additional youth and senior citizen programs.
• implementing our Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Amendments with a focus on exciting and sensible development in the Downtown Historic District to attract investment and growth in Ossining.
• careful development of our riverfront, guaranteeing real access for everyone to a mix of housing, RiverWalk, parks, restaurants, docks, and marinas while preserving our spectacular river views and maximizing public spaces.
• increasing citizen involvement in committees working to enhance the assets of the Ossining community to make our village a prime destination for shopping, dining, and recreation utilizing one of our most precious resources, the Hudson River.
Bob believes in a bright future for Ossining and will work with the Mayor and his fellow Trustees in concert with the Town Supervisor and Town Council to make Ossining, currently rated the number 2 of 42 Westchester County Municipalities, number one. View Comment

Unions are everyone's friend. Unions gave everyone who works for wages the eight hour day, the minimum wage, weekends and holidays, paid sick days, paid vacations, safe workplaces, overtime pay, and a host of other workplace rights and benefits enjoyed by both union members and nonunion workers as a result of the efforts of organized labor. Mike Tawil has served Ossining well as a Town Councilman. I am certain he will make a fine Judge. Mike has my full support and vote. View Comment
